Spring Open House!!
The Saturday before the trout opener is a perfect time for a get together and we would like to invite everyone for our 1st Annual Trout Primer and Open House. This is the perfect opportunity to take care of all of your pre-season needs as well as participate in seminars designed to get you ready for the 2015 season. Saturday will include store wide sales, fly tying and of course the best shore lunch in the business will be served at 12 noon and will include Scott’s seafood chowder, pulled pork sandwiches and bean’s and wieners.
Sunday will feature a free casting clinic on the Grand River and all sales will carry over.
What Does Early Spring have in Store?
Despite a very cold winter, it would appear that we are on the downhill run to spring. For anyone that has been cooped up inside for the last two months, the end is near. The past four days have been mild and the snow is melting quickly but in a good way. The next two weeks indicates a nice mixture of mild temperatures with just enough sun to make for a good, steady run off.
We predict near perfect conditions for the start of spring steelhead fishing. For daily up dates on conditions, visit us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ontarioflyfishing.ca?ref=hl
Spring Shopping at
GROF
Our spring line up is arriving daily and we are in great shape for the beginning of spring steelhead and trout. Remember, if you are too busy to get out of the house or the office, call us! We guarantee to ship next day via Canada Post if we have it in stock.
Items to look for in the upcoming weeks include spring line-ups from Columbia and Howler Brothers, our introduction of Nautilus fly reels, TroutHunter Tippets and Leaders and 2014 pricing on select 2015 fly rods from Sage, Redington and Winston.
Reel Servicing
Bring your fly reel in between now and the season kick off and for $10.00, we will give it a complete service, check your line and make it game ready. If you buy a new line however, the service will be free of charge!
Guiding in 2015
GRO Share a guide Program: You provide GRO with a list of potential dates that you are available and we will try and match those up with others looking to go fishing on the same dates. It’s like a dating or match making site without all of the awkwardness and the peace of mind that a hand shake at the end of the day will be more than sufficient.
The savings are substantial on both walk and wades and drifts and who knows, you just might find a fishing buddy out of this. If you need more details, give us a shout but otherwise, we’re prepared to go on this new gig so give us some dates and get out fishing.
There are only so many prime days in every season. Book your guide trip early to ensure that you get prime time!
