He’s been referred to with reverence, as “The Cool Breeze, Fishin’ Fonzy” and most recently, “Streamer Jesus”. This is the price one pays for being a great angler but when you hear the name, “Nick Groves” these days, you think of patterns like the Sex Dungeon, Silk Kitty or the Flatliner. Basically, patterns that more resemble casting a dead squirrel than your garden variety trout flies. However, Nick also has a soft and gentle side and fully recognizes that the wily trout doesn’t always want to kill big and ugly.
Nick has honed his skills in fly tying to the point that he has become one of the most well-rounded tiers in our region.
Join us on Saturday, March 18th, as Nick will be discussing and providing a Q and A, on one of the most important aspects of fishing mayfly hatches: breaking down the emergence. His relaxed style of teaching has made him one of the most sought after demonstrators in the area and with his vast repertoire, along with several proprietary patterns, this is sure to be a valuable tying session.
This is a complementary event and everyone is welcome.
